First of all I just want to say that I used a couple of the children's DVD's in my Sunday School class for Preteens, and they loved it! That's why I am interested in this VBS theme, and hoping everyone at church will agree on this one! Here are a few ideas I have for decorating. We have a small church, would probably only hold about 200 at capacity, but don't let that stop you from being creative!

1. Black out the windows.

2. Put up glow in-the-dark stars

3. Get a planetarium to project the universe all around

4. Use glow -in-the-dark paint, or tape to outline things..and to paint things

5. We have a big cross hanging on our front wall, and it will be cool to outline it with glow in-the-dark tape or something

6. Get some body paint that glows, and paint the kids during the program!

7. Plug in some black lights

8. Hang some planets from the ceiling or fan strings

9. I'd like to put OPERATION SPACE on our front wall in huge glowing letters

I'm sure I will find more ideas, but I'd like to see some of yours too! BTW, our VBS will be at the end of June. I will post photos if we choose this theme. www.hickoryridgechurch.com

I forgot, ALUMINUM FOIL. You can use it on EVERYTHING, including yourself!

Are there any photos to share from a "test" run of this program?

Yes, we do have photos of the church that piloted Operation Space. I'll see what I can do about getting some posted.

I plan to fasten cool burning christmas mini lights to the walls in our hallway, (a combination of white and multi-colored) with painters tape. Then I will cover the walls with black plastic and use a scissors to make small slits to push over the lights. This way the kids will have to do a space walk to get to the assembly area.

I'm trying to access the previews photos, without succes. CAn you help?
